CRAFTING CONDITIONS FOR DECENTRING SCHOLARSHIP AND PEDAGOGY IN DRAMA, THEATRE, PERFORMANCE STUDIES AND DANCE


Bron Batten is a multi-award-winning performer, theatre-maker and producer who creates contemporary performance in collaboration with non-artists and audience members. Her work is based in live art practices of participation, improvisation and direct address in order to create a live, vibrant and unique energetic exchange with the audience. Bron has presented her work festivals and venues such as The Soho Theatre London, Komedia Brighton UK, The Royal Vauxhall Tavern London, La Puta Calle Paris, The Turda International Theatre Festival Romania, The Prague Quadrennial, The Neo-Futurists Theatre Chicago USA, Darwin Festival, Brisbane Festival, Dark MOFO, Arts House, The Melbourne Theatre Company, The Malthouse Theatre, The Melbourne International Film Festival, Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA), The Wheeler Centre and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Scotland UK. Past works include Waterloo (2019); Onstage Dating (2016); Use Your Illusion (2014); The Dad Show (2014- 2016); Sweet Child of Mine (2011) and The Last Tuesday Society (2008- 2015). She has received Australia Council support and fellowships from the Ian Potter Foundation to undertake professional development in Zurich, New York, Chicago, Avignon, Glasgow, London and Hong Kong and in 2015 Bron was an artist in residence at the prestigious Cite des Arts Internationale in Paris.
